My interest in sports and fitness has grown over the last few years, as I’ve got fitter myself. And believe me I needed to. Always being into cycling I have background coming from road racing as a teenager (a good few years ago now) then moved in to cross country mountain biking.
Looking for something more I started Adventure Racing, competing in races ranging from 5hrs up to 48hrs long. This is when I found that endurance sports is really what I wanted to get into and I now enjoy the challenge of pushing my body to limits I never thought personally possible.
So as I’ve now trained hard myself over the last few years. Starting to compete in short distance 10k running races to build on my running & sprint distance triathlons, I’m now happy to say (some say crazy) that I’ve completed Ironman UK 70.3 (the toughest 70.3 in the world) , many 100 mile + bike events and having ran manly trail half marathons & marathons, this year I finished my first Ultra marathon (50 miles). This is one reason Redkite has come into my life. I trained in Kung foo years ago and always had an interest in martial arts. Muai Thai Kickboxing is an amazing way to increase fitness and the conditioning to my body as an ultra-marathon runner is much needed alongside my own training. I don’t teach thaiboxing but I would recommend it to anyone as part of your fitness routine, it’s also great fun!!!
I’ve achieved a YMCA level 2 gym instructors qualification and this year gained a BSY Personal Fitness Trainer award. I train indoors or outdoors but I tend to train myself and client’s outdoors, in fresh air away from machines and mirrors, enjoy training what nature and the environment gives you… rain or shine. I want to take my Personal Training past the physical side. If I can I want to make you feel stronger about yourself not just in body but also strong in mind. I’m a big believer in positive thinking & self-belief. Later this year I will qualify as a NLP Life Coach. So combining fitness training with life coaching I want to be able to help you fight issues of body image, weight gain/loss, self sabotage and self-esteem issues to help you become fitter physical and mentally, and one step at a time reach your personal goals.
